Lessons learned in 2012:
*Just because your best friends move 5 plus hours away, it doesn’t mean they never want to hear from you again. Suck it up and deal with it.
*Things change. Feelings, goals, ambitions. Adapt accordingly.
*NEVER lose sight of your values…it may take you an eternity to find yourself again.
*Music heals everything.
*Everyone has a story. Listen.
*Grudges will destroy you.
*Love like there is no tomorrow.
*God changes lives.
*ALWAYS follow your own advice. (Can you say challenge?)
*Positivity can do great things.
*Believe in yourself.
Looking back, I think I knew these lessons all along. Self confidence can take you a long way in life. Maybe that should be my New Year’s Resolution. Instead of focusing on petty things that improve my appearance, maybe I should just “own” being me. Year after year, it all ends the same. I give up 6 weeks into a new routine. I am just now realizing that you have to fix the inside before you even attempt the outside.
It’s decided. 2013 will be about me. Screw looking good. I want to FEEL good and LOVE who I am. The outside stuff will then happen without a doubt. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually be motivated to tackling a couple of miles of running at one time.
Have a fantastic New Year. I’ll see ya on the flip side of 2013.
