Stone Sour’s main man Corey Taylor
revealed a little more insight into this whole comic book fiasco he’s creating and it is way more inspiring than I thought it would be.
According to Taylor, before he wrote ‘House of Gold and Bones’ he realized that he wasn’t becoming who he wanted to be for the rest of his life.
“I had an idea of who I wanted to be as a man and I realized who I was at the time didn’t exactly jibe with what that idea was. So I started the process of changing for the better … ‘House of Gold & Bones’ is loaded with that journey, but it also has a lot of pieces from my friends’ lives — some are a lot more ahead of the curve than others, but we all are trying to do the same thing: trying to figure it all out. That’s why I wanted to tell the story in the first place — to put it all in perspective and find my place in it all.”
I know what you’re saying…Get to the point, Chloe!
Well, Taylor went on to say that he wanted to be able to bring that journey to life with more than just the music. So, BAM! Comic book. It also allows him a way to expand the story just a little bit more.
Basic story line of the comic? There’s this guy. He finds himself in a world that he is unfamiliar with. What does he do? He decides to change it and goes through this incredible self journey in ways that we can all relate.
Now do you see why I included the long quote above? It’s pretty much the EXACT same thing that inspired Taylor to write the album.
Can it just be April 17th already so we can experience the first issue? The cover art from the first issue looks incredible and was done by Richard P. Clark

. Awesome right?
So, my inner nerd is showing. I think that’s a good cue to leave, don’t you?
Have a fantastic weekend!
