Shut Up and Rock -- 1/23/13

Jan 23, 2013 -- 8:37am

Half-way point engaged!

  • Looks like "King Animal" won't be the last offering from Soundgarden, as lead singer Chris Cornell confirmed in an interview with Billboard that he believes the band will continue making music together in the future.  They're currently in the midst of their North American tour that wraps up in LA on February 7th.

  • Dave Grohl just can't sit still!  He has produced and drummed for a song with Swedish doom metal band Ghost...a cover of ABBA's "I'm a Marionette."  Seriously.  It'll be on the b-side of their upcoming single, "Secular Haze," out in April.

  • Could the Green Goblin show up in the Amazing Spider-Man 2?  Actor Dane DeHaan was introduced as "playing the Green Goblin" by his Kill Your Darlings director at Sundance this weekend, even though he's only been confirmed as playing Harry Osborn in the upcoming sequel, not his alter-ego.  We'll find out for sure on May 2nd of 2014.

  • Did Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen have a sex change?  The character isn't listed in the IMDb credits for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but a "Jenny Olsen" is credited as being played by Rebecca Buller, who looks just like the girl seen running alongside Perry White (Lawrence Fishburne), Jimmy/"Jenny's" boss at the Daily Planet in the comics.  Hmm...

  • It's official:  Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to home consoles!  Capcom confirmed that the formerly 3DS-exclusive game will get an HD touch-up and some other "new bells and whistles we're keeping under our hats for now" before it releases for XBox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC on May 21st.

  • Speaking of games moving to different platforms, there may indeed be a PC release scheduled for Grand Theft Auto 5.  Though not yet confirmed, Amazon France (notorious for leaking info like this) is taking pre-orders for the game already.  Currently, GTA 5 is only confirmed for XBox 360 and PS3.

'Til Thursday, my friends...ROCK!
