Shut Up and Rock -- 4/29/13

Apr 29, 2013 -- 8:28am

Why is it that, if a man kills another man in battle, it's called heroic...yet, if he kills a man in the heat of passion, it's called murder?

  • According to the fine folks at 411mania.com, these are the top ten Rob Zombie songs of all time:

    1.     More Human than Human

    2.     King of Souls

    3.     Living Dead Girl

    4.     Superbeast

    5.     Thunder Kiss ‘65

    6.     Dragula

    7.     Tales from the Scarecrow Man

    8.     Dead Girl Superstar

    9.     Foxy Foxy

    10.   American Witch

I think I would've found room for Feel So Numb and Never Gonna Stop, but that's just me.

  • The Rolling Stones are gearing up for the 50 and Counting tour, which kicks off Thursday at the Staples Center in LA, with an intimate performance over the weekend at the EchoPlex where tickets were just $20 a piece and limited to one per person.  They'll be playing gigs here in the States for about a month or two, then heading across the pond to the Glastonbury Festival and Hyde Park in July.

  • Michael Bay's Pain & Gain, starring the Rock and Mark Wahlberg (and which we gave you passes to see last week), debuted at #1 at the box office this weekend with a $20 million take, followed by Oblivion at #2 and 42 at #3.  The Big Wedding flopped in its opening weekend at #4, pulling in only a fifth of its relatively low budget for an ensemble cast flick.

  • It won't be out in the US until Friday, but Iron Man 3 is already breaking international box office debut records, as it released overseas this weekend to a massive take of nearly $200 million, up about $15 from  The Avengers last year.  The film's budget is approximately $200 million as well, so by the time it pulls in its expected $125 million in the States this weekend, Tony Stark will be seeing the dollar signs.

  • A leaked marketing blueprint from Gamestop suggests that the rumored Call of Duty: Ghosts, which we discussed late last week, will be officially unveiled this Wednesday.  Infinity Ward will be handling this installment of the franchise, their first non-numbered entry in the series in a while.

  • Bethesda has confirmed that the Legendary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V:  Skyrim is coming June 1st for XBox 360, PS3, and PC, including the game and all three downloadable packs (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn), as well as removing the level cap and adding the Legendary difficulty level to the package.

'Til Tuesday, my minions...ROCK!
