Shut Up and Rock -- 6/19/13

Jun 19, 2013 -- 7:58am

No, I don't wear tights.  I wear the required uniform.

  • If you're enjoying the new Black Sabbath album 13, then you'll be glad to know that Ozzy believes there's more on the way from the group in the near future.  Osbourne also said in a recent interview that he hopes to have things worked out with original Sabbath drummer Bill Ward before that happens, and he's hoping that the success of the new stuff will help erase his time as a reality TV star -- in other words, he's not particularly proud of The Osbournes show that aired on MTV years ago.

  • Andrew W.K. is a madman!  Okay, that's not news, but his attempt to set a world record for the longest drum session held in a retail store is, don't you think? It begins tonight at 6:00 PM Central at the Oakley store in Times Square, and he'll be trying to drum for 24 hours straight with special guests along the way, including noted drummer Questlove of The Roots.  Good luck, champ!

  • Produciton for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is already underway, and the film will be released May 2nd of next year.  Great!  But what about the third and fourth movies in that franchise?  Oh, you didn't know they've already been green-lit, despite only the first one making it to theaters so far?  Oh yeah.  June 2016 and May 2018, respectively.  Should be fun.

  • Continuing the "on-again" portion of the on-and-off saga of Dumb & Dumber To, the Farrelly brothers say that the flick has been picked up by Universal and Red Granite Pictures for distrbution after Warner Bros. passed on it last week, so it looks like the saga of Harry & Lloyd will indeed continue...and also, we've learned that plot revolves around the duo looking for one of their children.  Ohhh, man.

  • Gaming update with Coffey's Comics and Games at 1031 Broadway this morning, and according to the Paizo blog, there's a new Pathfinder player companion book on the way next month that's designed to be used in the Pathfinder Society campaign, which is up and running right now at Coffey's, as I understand it.  Check it out by clicking the link here.

  • Also, Rogue of the X-Men is now confirmed as a character in the upcoming Deadpool game that's due out next Tuseday through Activision and High Moon for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.  She joins a list of other X-Men related characters in the game, including Mr. Sinister, Cable, and more.

'Til Thursday, my peeps...ROCK!
