Dec 16, 2013 -- 7:03am

They want to cure us.  I say that we ARE the cure!

  • Halestorm announced over the weekend that the work on their third album begins very soon.  Drummer Arejay Hale said that after the band finished up their North American tour yesterday in Chicago, they'd be locking themselves in a studio in Nashville for the month of January to begin writing the follow-up to 2012's Grammy-winning album, The Strange Case of...

  • Meanwhile, Pearl Jam announced they're heading out on a European tour next summer.  The band just finished their own North American tour as well to support Lightning Bolt, and tickets for the 2014 UK shows will go on sale this Friday for shows happening from mid June to early July.

  • No big surprise here -- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug dominated the box office this weekend, claiming the #1 crown with a $73 million take, while Disney's Frozen slipped to #2 to make way, and Madea's Family Christmas opened at #3 because people are terrible.

  • Also, it looks like Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will make the jump to film for the reboot Terminator: Genesis film, which is being directed by Alan Taylor, who has worked with her before on Game of Thrones and has recently directed Thor: the Dark World.  Clarke will be playing Sarah Conner in the first film of a projected new trilogy for the series, due out July 2nd, 2015.

  • Dead Rising 3's first DLC pack will be "Operation Eagle," following a new protagonist as he attempts to rescue the President in the zombie outbreak through an all-new mission, as well as new weapons, outfits, etc.  It's the first of four planned expansions to the game, and though we don't have a price yet, we can tell you it'll be out on Christmas Eve.

  • Also, Lionhead Studios has finally committed to a release date for Fable Anniversary.  February 4th is when you'll be able to get your hands on the full-HD remake of the original Xbox Fable game for the 360.

'Til Tuesdsay, troops...ROCK!
