Ohhh, yeah! Cheeeee-ese! Didn't we lock you in a dumpster one time?
- By now, you know the 2014 Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame class has been announced, including first-time nominees Nirvana and many-time nominees KISS, along with Cat Stevens, Hall & Oats, Peter Gabriel, and more. KISS actually won the fan voting, while Nirvana came in second. The ceremony will take place in April at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and it'll be filmed by HBO for a May special broadcast, too.
- The Odd Couple is coming back to TV! Former Friends star Matthew Perry will co-write, executive produce, and star in the series as Oscar Madison, the messy part of the pairing with neat-freak Felix Unger, who has yet to be cast. CBS will pick up the show, but other than that, news is light so far -- no projected dates, etc.
- Speaking of old properties, Warner Bros is finally moving ahead on a film adaptation of Gilligan's Island with Josh Gad (Frozen) signed on to play either Gilligan or the Skipper. The original was a light-hearted sitcom from the 60's. Let's hope this is, too, because I don't want to live in a world where even Gilligan has to be dark and gritty.
- Nintendo went hard yesterday on announcements! In one of their occasional "Nintendo Direct" conferences, we learned about a new Yoshi's Island coming to the 3DS, Princess Rosalina joining the Super Smash Bros. roster, Dr. Luigi coming to the Wii U later this month, and even a Legend of Zelda / Dynasty Warriors mash-up tentatively titled Hyrule Warriors. Sweet!
'Til Friday, freaks...ROCK!
